A couple tips to get the best flavor

  • Monk Sugar “in the raw” is my favorite. It is crunchy large granules that add a better flavor than the Monk Sugar that is made to look like typical white sugar. I included a photo of the Monk Sugar I think taste best.

  • Monk sugar is made from Monk Fruit extract. It does not cause me to have sugar cravings after eating. I work with an Registered Dietitian on a regular basis to best fuel my body. She shared I should have just a tiny bit of protein when I used Monk sugar to keep your body from craving sugar after eating. I will eat a couple of walnuts or cashews. Although I have noticed that when I do not have any protein with these I do not have sugar cravings.

  • Medjool dates work best. I personally like the jumbo organic medjool dates that come with seeds in them from Nuts.com. I have noticed that some brands are not as fresh and can be dried out. Keep dates refrigerated once you get them home.

  • You can add more sugar or cocoa if you want it extra sweet and chocolately.

  • If your batter seems dry, add a few more pitted dates.

I make other variations of these Date balls

  • Cinnamon roll

  • Ginger spice

  • Almond joy

  • I will make up batches and share more recipes later.

Fudgy Date Ball Recipe

24 Medjool dates (remove pit)

1 tsp real vanilla

1/2 cup Monk Sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/4 tsp salt

Blend above ingredients together in a blender. I use a Vitamix. It will turn into a sticky clump of chocolate yumminess. Roll into balls. Make a powder with equal parts cocoa powder and monk sugar. Roll balls in this. Cover in an airtight container and refridgerate.

-Freezes well. I have used these many times for training runs.
